Tampa, Florida & Bristol, Connecticut – The United Soccer League and ESPN are pleased to announce that all USL Championship and USL League 1 matches this season will be broadcast on the ESPN platform. The USL will be the only domestic professional football on the ESPN network to broadcast all 620 games (regular season and playoffs) of the 2023 USL Championship and USL League 1 campaign live on ESPN+ or the ESPN television network.
This is the eighth season that ESPN will be the USL’s sole domestic media partner.
Nine games will air on ESPN2 this season. Beginning Saturday, May 13, Eastern Conference titleholders Louisville City FC will face Miami FC at Lynn Family Stadium at 7:00 PM ET. Nine of his USL games on ESPN2 are listed below and were announced tonight on the ESPN+ show Football Americas, which airs every Monday and Thursday night.
Additional national telecasts are expected to be announced in the coming weeks, including selected matches in Spanish on ESPN Deportes.
The ESPN2 games will feature two rivals: Monterey Bay FC vs. Oakland Roots SC at Cardinale Stadium on July 15 and San Antonio FC vs. Rio Grande Valley FC at Toyota Field in the South Texas Derby on August 16. Showdown stands out.
The 2023 USL Championship and League 1 Finals will both air on ESPN2, with the League 1 Finals set for Sunday 5 November and the Championship Finals set for Sunday 12 November.
The 2023 USL Championship season kicks off on Saturday, March 11, with 11 games scheduled over the first weekend of the season. Next weekend, the 2023 USL League 1 season kicks off on Friday 17 March.
