Charleston, South Carolina – The Charleston Battery announced on Friday that the club has signed midfielder Pierre Riedy to its 2023 roster, pending league and federation approval. Reedy will be selected Saturday night when Charleston faces Miami FC at Riccardo Silva Stadium (7 p.m. ET | ESPN+).
Reedy has arrived in the Lowcountry after spending the end of the 2022-23 season with Dundee FC in Scotland. The 25-year-old made four appearances for Dundee, helping them win the Scottish Championship and promotion to the Scottish Premiership.
“I couldn’t be happier to have signed with Battery and to be part of such a great group,” Reedy said. “I’m really looking forward to getting off to a good start and doing my part to help the team win the title.

Before heading overseas, Reedy played for Real Salt Lake and Real Monarchs SLC in the 2022 season. Reedy made his Major League Soccer debut on April 3 against the Colorado Rapids, starting in the RSL’s only Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup game. Reedy appeared in 18 games for the Monarchs in the MLS NEXT Pro, recording one assist.
Battery head coach Ben Pillman is looking forward to incorporating Reedy into his team, who can be used as both a midfielder and a full-back.

A native of Cuttstown, Pennsylvania, Reedy played in college at Penn State University, captained the team in his last three seasons with the Nittany Lions, and was named to the All-America and All-Big Ten twice. During his college career, he played in 69 games (64 starts), scoring 9 goals and 12 assists. Reedy is also a Big Ten Medal of Honor recipient. The midfielder played for Reading United AC in USL League Two during his time at Penn State. Prior to college, he played for the New York Red Bulls Academy and Lehigh Valley United youth teams.
