Melbourne, Florida – The USL announced today that Brevard SC will become the newest club to join USL League 2.
Brevard SC President Udson Fenelon said, “We adopted the phrase ‘Beyond Futbol’ to express our passion for this sport is out of this world. Our dedication and love for the sport. is deeply rooted in this club.”
The club’s mission is to provide players within the Brevard County community with a home to grow and compete on the national stage. Their hope is to source local talent and place them in Path 2 Pro to further their professional football career.
“It is very exciting to have Brevard SC join League Two for next season,” said Joel Nash, USL’s Vice President of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties. “We have a very strong League 2 presence in Florida and Brevard will fit right in. I can’t wait.”
Brevard existed as Brevard Fire for three years, competing in other national adult leagues and moving multiple players into the professional ranks. Jimmy Mwanga joined Cyprus’ Olympias Lympion from Brevard in July, while Cedric Fenelon joined Finland’s PS Kemi Kings after spending time at the club.
Brevard SC will join the Sarasota-based expansion club announced earlier this year to compete in the Southeast Division of USL League 2 for the 2023 season.
