Colorado Springs, Colorado – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced Friday that the club has acquired forward Jonas Feldberg following a move from the Indy Eleven. In response, the Switchbacks transferred defender Macauley King to the Indy Eleven. Per club policy, details of the transaction have not been made public.
“[Jonas’] Character ticked all the boxes in our locker room and once we knew there was a real chance to make this happen, we jumped at the signing opportunity,” said Switchbacks head coach Steven Hogan. said. “His attacking qualities and energy were something we noticed last year and we’ve been scouting him since he ripped us apart at home last season. Feldberg joined the Indy Eleven before the 2022 season and spent the middle of the season on loan at Rio Grande Valley FC, where he continued in the 2021 season. The 24-year-old had six goals and one assist in 12 appearances, helping the Toros reach their second straight postseason appearance.
The Norwegian was drafted by FC Cincinnati in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft and was loaned to Rio Grande Valley FC in August of the same year. Overall, Feldberg has scored 11 goals and provided two assists in 39 appearances in the USL Championship over his career.
During his college days, Feldberg played four seasons at the University of Dayton, scoring 22 goals and providing 21 assists in 61 appearances. During his stay, Feldberg was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team in 2017 and was named Atlantic 10 Attacker of the Year and A-10 First Team in both 2019 and 2020, as well as United Soccer He earned honors such as being named to the coach’s All-Midwest First Team.
