Earlier this week, we offered the SSFC community the opportunity to: let them hear About who they think the next head coach of the US Men’s National Team should be.When USMNT Head coach Greg Berhalter was out of contract, so it was unclear at the time who was being considered to lead the team into the next cycle.
Since voting began a lot of things happened. a lotU.S. Soccer’s Sports Director Ernie Stewart Has Anthony Hudson Lead USMNT as temporary coach In friendly matches against Serbia and Colombia later this month. Still, US Soccer is undergoing a review of its USMNT program, giving the federation an opportunity to begin a process that will lead to the nomination of coaches for the next World Cup cycle.
The SSFC community has selected 19 potential head coach candidates, including incumbent Greg Berhalter. There was also the option to select “Other” for candidates not on the list. In the end, 1197 votes were cast and many comments were received.
Jesse Marsh leeds united Head Coach was the most popular with 207 votes, accounting for 17% of all votes. Behind Marsch in the top five are former Belgian head coach Roberto Martinez (124 votes), former German head coach Joachim Loeff (118 votes), LAFC Head coach Steve Cerundro (98 votes) and AS Roma Head coach Jose Mourinho (94 votes).
