inside story
The last time Violette played a competitive match, she defeated Dominican side Cibao on penalties in the final of the CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championship, sending the club into the CONCACAF Champions League.
Due to the low number of matches and the general gap in perceived talent between Violette and Austin, Tuesday’s result is one of the biggest upsets in the history of the tournament.
Violette was playing the game in the series’ “home” game, the Dominican Republic, due to safety concerns in her home country. His Q2 stadium return leg for Austin FC takes place on Tuesday March 14th.
