Hartford, Connecticut – The Hartford Athletic announced Thursday that it has acquired striker Elvis Hameau following a move from the club’s Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. The transaction is pending league and federation approval and the terms of the transfer agreement are not disclosed per club policy.

Amoe is coming to Hartford in 2022 after a great season in Colorado Springs. Hameau was a dangerous weapon in the Switchbacks attacking Arsenal as he scored 13 goals and he scored three assists as part of a group that ranked him fifth in the championship with 64 goals. A proven goalscorer in the championship, Amoh has netted 34 times in four seasons. He entered the league with Loudoun United FC in his 2019 and scored his eight goals in two seasons before having a breakout year with Rio Grande Valley FC in 2021. He earned Player of the Week honors after he scored a hat-trick against Miami FC.
“Elvis is an exciting player and we are thrilled to bring him to Hartford,” said Athletic Technical Director Ray Reed. “He can score in a variety of ways. He is one of the best athletes in the USL and has valuable playoff experience in Colorado last year. I am very happy.”
Amoh began his professional career with Asante Kotoko SC of the Ghana Premier League in 2015 and returned to the club in 2017 after spending a year at the West Africa Football Academy. In late 2017, he joined Capital City FC of the Canadian Football League, and in 2019 he played for Czech National Football League’s He SK Lisen before taking part in the championship with Loudoun.
