Louis O’Brien has completed his loan move from Nottingham Forest to DC United.
The midfielder moves to the United States on a contract until 16 July 2023.
O’Brien was due to join Blackburn Rovers on the January deadline, but the deal fell through due to delays in filing paperwork by the Championship Club.
But the player, who joined Forest from Huddersfield in July on a £10million joint deal with Harry Toffolo, will play regular football in the MLS.
Forest head coach Steve Cooper said, “Lewis deserves this opportunity to play football.” It’s going to be really positive for him.
“It will be a great experience and I wish him the best of luck.”
O’Brien made 17 appearances in all competitions for Forest, scoring once. He will now join Wayne Rooney in the United States, where former England striker Wayne Rooney is head coach.
