Merritt was named to the USL Academy League Finals All-Tournament Team after a brilliant campaign in the heart of midfield. He joined the United Academy in August 2021 and has been a leader ever since. During his season in 2022, Merritt’s coolness under pressure saw the Academy finish in his fifth place in the playoff division.
“Myles Merritt has shown the most improvement in the last 12 to 16 months of the Academy programme. He has added his ability to press and split plays as a central midfielder. I’m excited to see how it works.”
Robles signed the 10th contract in United Academy history in February 2021. Since then, he has become a fixture at the club, recording more minutes than any other player in Academy history. Additionally, Robles proved to be a key figure in the team’s success in its first campaign, earning a call-up to the United U-23 roster during his USL League Two season in 2022. Robles has also secured an academy deal for 2021 and is training with United’s first team.
