sacramento, california – Sacramento Republic FC announced Friday that the club has signed Colombian forward Sebastian Herrera ahead of the 2023 USL Championship season. He will be added to the club’s roster pending receipt of a P-1 visa and his ITC, as well as league and federation approval. Per club policy, the terms of the deal are not disclosed.
After 11 professional seasons in his native Colombia and Ecuador, Herrera joined Republic FC where he played in the top leagues of both countries, scoring 83 goals in 273 appearances. In 2022, he played for Coltrua FC in Colombia, his second stint at the club, scoring his two goals in eight appearances.
The veteran striker made his professional debut in 2012 at the age of 18 for his hometown of Real Santander (Bucaramanga, Colombia) before making his debut in Colombia’s second division, Category Primera B. In his two seasons that kicked off his illustrious career, he was promoted to the top of his flight.
