phoenix – Phoenix Rising FC announced on Tuesday that the club has acquired midfielder Carlos Harvey from Major League Soccer’s LA Galaxy for an undisclosed transfer fee. This transaction is pending league and federation approval.
“I will do my best for Phoenix Rising,” Harvey said. “I am a player who will sacrifice myself to prove myself to the fans with my desire, will and strength. Our goal is to be champions this season.”
Harvey started his career in October 2018 with Tauro FC in the Panama First Division. He joined the Galaxy on loan from Tauro prior to his 2019 season and that season he won the USL Championship with LA Galaxy II where he made 19 appearances and scored 2 goals. Harvey completed his move to Galaxy in February 2019 and made his 10th MLS appearance with the club in 2020-21.
“Carlos fits our style of play,” said Rising FC manager Juan Guerra. His versatility, on-the-ball quality, and athleticism allow us to use him in a variety of roles in our game model.”
During his time in LA, Harvey continued to compete with the Galaxy II on loan, appearing in 56 games in the regular season and playoffs of the USL Championship. During that time, he recorded his 6 goals and his 1 assist, recorded 85 interceptions and his 299 recoveries, for a duel completion rate of 57.4%.
In addition to his club experience, Harvey has also played for the Panama Men’s National Team twice, making his debut against the United States Men’s National Team at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona on January 27, 2019. The 23-year-old also made his one appearance in 2021 in his second-to-last round of FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Anguilla.
