Phoenix, Arizona. – Phoenix Rising FC announced Friday that the club has signed Glendale native Jack Ramirez to a USL Academy deal for the 2023 USL Championship season.
A deal with the USL Academy allows young players to train and compete against professional players in USL Championships while retaining their college credentials. Ramirez is the fifth local academy player to sign for Rising FC this season, joining Liam Mullins, Santi Hanus, Efetobo Aror and Joel Tobik in the club’s first-team roster.
“Jack trained with us in pre-season,” said Rising FC head coach Juan Guerra. “He knows and understands our game model. It is something to be proud of and we are creating a clear path from academy to top team for our local players.
“Andy Chapman and Danny Stone have done an amazing job for the Academy.
Ramirez, 16, is currently attending Apollo High School in Glendale.
“I am very excited and grateful to have signed an Academy contract with Phoenix Rising,” Ramirez said. “When I practiced with the top teams during the pre-season, I gained a lot of confidence and motivation. I would like to thank my coaches and family for always supporting and motivating me. I look forward to using it to prepare for the next step in my career.”
