Racine, Wisconsin – The USL announced today that RKC Football Club will be the latest club to join the USL League 2 and USL W League.
“We are thrilled to start this club for the greater community. This has been a goal for many years and it feels great to finally achieve it. , we still have a lot of work to do, but we are fully committed to providing our players with a quality training and playing environment and a great experience for our supporters.”
The club hopes to provide a highly competitive training and game environment not only from the Racine and Kenosha communities, but also statewide and nationally. Additionally, RKC Soccer Club wants to represent their home in the best possible way and plans to participate in community-driven initiatives in Racine and Kenosha counties.
“It’s great to see the unity in the sport, a club that the community just wants to be proud to be a part of,” said Joel Nash, USL’s Vice President of Youth and Pre-Professional Properties. said to “We are very excited to welcome the RKC soccer club. Soccer is thriving in Wisconsin and this is another example.”
Although this will be the first season for the RKC football club, the region has a rich football history. Racine and Kenosha have produced numerous professional soccer players and coaches, including his Jesse Marsch, a former US Men’s National Team player. The club is led by an ownership group that includes Ivan Petrovich, Brian Zikowski and Wayne Howard.
This expansion continues USL’s expanding footprint in Wisconsin.
