oakland, california – Oakland Roots SC announced Friday that the club will play the remainder of the 2023 USL Championship season at Pioneer Stadium on the campus of California State University in the East Bay of Hayward, California. All dates and kick-off times are as previously announced.
Lindsey Barens, President of Auckland Roots said: “While we are disappointed not to be able to return to Rainey this season, we are grateful to the East Bay, CA staff and the Athletic Department for supporting and welcoming us. The match had a great atmosphere thanks to the amazing fans.”
All tickets purchased for games previously scheduled at Rainey College remain valid in East Bay, California. Cal State East Bay provided the club with the ability to welcome new fans to game day, drawing the largest crowds. Food and drinks are available for purchase throughout the season, including beer and wine.

Auckland Roots and Soul Sporting Club recently announced plans for a new interim stadium initiative based in Malibrot, adjacent to the Auckland Coliseum. It offers Championship Roots, Seoul for USL W League, and Project 51O for USL League 2. Live in Auckland for the next 10 years.
The clubs are currently set to host a doubleheader on May 13, with Auckland Seoul taking on Olympic Club at 5pm before Roots SC will host Orange County SC at 8pm PT that day. Sometimes we will have our first home contest in the W League.
