st.petersburg, florida – The Tampa Bay Rowdies announced Monday that the club has signed German forward Felix Schroeter ahead of the 2023 USL Championship season. This transaction is pending league and federation approval.
Schröter joins Rowdies after spending the past two seasons at FK Jerv in Norway. In 2021, Schroeter saw him score six goals in 15 appearances, helping Jaab gain promotion to Norway’s top his league, the Elite Serien. He made 12 appearances in the top league last year, adding a further five goals.
“Felix is a very hard worker and a team player who puts pressure on defenders,” said Rowdies head coach Neil Collins. On top of that, he is very good with both feet and can score goals with either. Looking at his record with his former team, the Jabs, he scored about one goal in every two games he played, even though he hadn’t played in a team that created many scoring chances. I was. He scores in big games. He’s the kind of player we think has goal-scoring quality and a work ethic to match. ”
Born in Ulm, Germany, Schroeter spent his youth at VfB Stuttgart, 1899 Hoffenheim and Schalke 04. In 2015 Schroter made his professional debut at FC Heidenheim during his loan spell from Schalke 04 II.
After several seasons at Schalke 04, the 27-year-old moved to FV Illertissen, where he scored 15 goals in 33 appearances. Before moving to Norwegian Jörf, Schroeter said he was in 3. Liga with SpVgg Unterhaching where he spent two seasons, scoring nine goals.
“Rowdies have been on top for the last few years. Coming into the club with ambition and winning the league is really important to me,” said Schroeter. “They have been close for the last few years. I think we are really competitive with a lot of deals and teams this season. ”
