San Antonio – San Antonio FC announced Thursday that the club has signed defender Lamar Batista to a 25-day deal ahead of the 2023 USL Championship season. The deal is subject to league and federation approval and, per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Batista made his USL Championship debut in 2017 with the Portland Timbers 2 on loan from Portland Timbers FC of Major League Soccer. He appeared in his 44 league games in his T2, with a 79% success rate he recorded 63 clears, 36 interceptions and 30 tackles, helping the team win his 2018 USL Championship. After two seasons at Portland, Batista signed with MLS side Los Angeles FC prior to the 2019 season, where he played both a championship on loan with Phoenix Rising FC and USL League 1 with FC Tucson. . Most recently, OKC Energy FC and Colorado SpringsHe has also played in the Switchbacks FC championship, and across the league he has appeared in 64 games, and in 2020 he is headed to North Texas SC for his USL.
