San Diego – San Diego Royal SC goaltender Duran Ferry is selected by head coach Gonzalo Segales for a nine-day domestic training camp from January 5-13 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA U-17 Called to the team of the men’s national team.
The 16-year-old is the first active SD Royal player to be called up to the US National Team’s camp.

Ferry is part of a 23-man roster of top U-17 American players around the world. The January camp represents the final gathering before announcing Segares’ final roster for the 2023 CONCACAF U-17 Championship, which takes place from 11-26 February in Guatemala. Four semi-finalists from the tournament will qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru 2023.
Ferry signed as a professional with SD Loyal this September, becoming the first player in the club’s history to join the Pro ranks from the club’s Loyal Select development pathway. The San Diego native was 15 when he signed with SD Loyal, making him the youngest player in the club’s history. Ferry was a regular in his 2022 season, appearing in his two games of the season, including his first starting eleven against New Mexico on 10 October. . He recorded his four saves in his 135-minute game.

Ferry will join the first Royal Select team on 22nd April 2021. After an outstanding season with the Royal Select, Ferry signed his USL Academy contract on January 28, ahead of his 2022 USL Championship season, after which he signed his first signed a professional contract.
