Colorado Springs, Colorado. – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC announced Friday that they have signed Pride soccer midfielder Dillon Clarke to a USL Academy deal for the 2023 USL Championship season.
As a USL Academy subscriber, Clark will be able to train and compete in the USL Championship and Lamar Hunt US Open Cup switchbacks without losing his NCAA eligibility.
“Dillon is a great young man with the right attitude to work hard to get what he wants in the game,” said Switchbacks head coach and general manager Stephen Hogan. His ability to handle the ball has brought him to where he is now, and we look forward to enjoying the development stages of Dillon’s career and watching him grow as a person in our locker room.”
A native of Colorado Springs, Clark has been playing soccer since he was three years old. The 16-year-old has been in Pride his football since 2010 and is eager to improve as a Switchbacks athlete this season.
“I just want to say how excited I am to have the opportunity to sign with the Switchbacks,” Clark said of the deal. “The experience so far has been unforgettable. Also to my family who have always supported me, my coach and trainer at Prodigy Futbol Development, Johnny Osegera, who has always pushed me, I would not be where I am today. I would also like to thank my teammates that I would not have had, Pride Soccer for providing the foundation for me to play.
