Mukosana first joined the Rowdies on loan from the Harrisburg City Islanders in the second half of the 2013 season, appearing in nine games and scoring two goals. He then signed with Tampa Bay the following offseason and recorded another pair of goals in 27 appearances.
The Rowdies reacquired Mukosana midway through the 2019 season, transferring from Louisville City FC. The 35-year-old’s attacking output since his comeback has been impressive. Mukosana has been mostly used as an option off the bench, but in the Rowdies’ last four league games he has scored 18 goals in 1,800 minutes.
Rowdies head coach Neil Collins said, “There were times last year when we didn’t give Lucky the opportunities he deserved based on how he trained.” “Age is just a number. He can still make an impact on and off the field. I don’t think there’s a better player to make an impact off the bench.” He has shown that whenever he gets an opportunity, he will put it in. Taking those chances is a big part of his game.
“We are delighted to have him back. With more players changing than ever before, it is important to show what the standards of a player are and what it means to play for this club. am.”
Mukosana’s consistency as an understudy has made him a cult hero. His 23 goals in 86 substitutes in the regular season and playoffs is the most by a single player in championship history. The two most memorable players who helped unite the club in the Eastern Conference Finals have been one of the standout individual performances in the league’s postseason history.
