Colorado Springs, Colorado – The United Soccer League (USL) today announced an exciting calendar of community and fan events as part of Hisense’s second annual USL Summer Showcase next month in Colorado Springs. The USL Summer Showcase includes the league’s annual midterm meetings, community events, and partner activities. It’s a celebration of the Colorado Springs community and the Switchbacks’ famous home stadium, Widener Field. The week will culminate on Wednesday, August 9 with a game between the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC and FC Tulsa, which will air nationally on ESPN2 at 9:00 p.m. ET.
USL Summer Showcases, Events and Activations Hosted by Hisense:
Soccer Film Night @ USL Summer Showcase – USL will partner with the Colorado Independent Film Association and the Kicking + Screening Soccer Film Festival to host a special Soccer Film Night on Monday, August 7 at 7:00 PM (Montana). Fans are invited to the Ivy Wild School, big time football, NASL’s astonishing rise and fall, Directed by Rachel Violet.Doors open at 6pm Montana time and tickets are available for purchase here.
100th Anniversary Elementary School Mini Pitch – The USL’s Colorado Switchbacks, in partnership with Hisense, Musco Lighting and the Football Foundation of America, will unveil a brand-new mini-pitch at Centennial Elementary School on Tuesday, August 8 at 1:30 p.m., Montana. After brief presentations by representatives from the Colorado Springs Switchbacks, Harrison 2nd School District, Centennial Elementary School, Hisense and USL, Centennial Elementary students will participate in a brand new mini-pitch clinic with Colorado Switchbacks and FC Tulsa players.
“Warm Up” Party Hosted by Tequila Corralejo – Fans are invited to USL for an evening of football and friends at Trainwreck Bar & Restaurant on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 from 5:00pm to 9:00pm MT. The main event is his live weekly SiriusXM FC show, USL All Access, hosted by Mike Watts and Devon Carr. The live show starts at 6pm Montana time. Special guests from the Colorado Springs Switchbacks and FC Tulsa, giveaways, and merchandise from his Summer Showcase are also available.Fans can pre-register and participate here.

Unified Soccer Series – The first event of its kind within the USL, the 3rd Annual Unified Soccer Series will feature the Colorado Springs and Omaha Special Olympics unified teams to promote social inclusion through sports training and shared competitive experiences, bringing people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same team. Following the USL Championship game against FC Tulsa, the Colorado Switchbacks unified team will host the Union Omaha unified team in the continuation of the series that opened in Omaha on July 8. The match will be played in front of more than 200 executives from the USL’s professional and pre-pro clubs who travel to Colorado Springs for the annual USL midseason meeting.
