USL Championship Fans’ Choice Saves of the Week – Week 6
Oliver Semmle (LOU) – #LOUvSA, April 15, 2023: The German shot-stopper made a decisive low stop early in the 2022 Championship final rematch to shut out San Antonio FC’s Zico Bailey on the road to a second straight league shutout.
Bill Hamid (MEM) – #MEMvLV, April 15, 2023: The former US goalkeeper produced an excellent one-handed stop to miss a close-range chance from Las Vegas Lights FC’s Asriel Gonzalez in the first half at Autozone Park.
Leonardo Diaz (LV) – #MEMvLV, April 15, 2023: The Argentinian helped keep Lights FC even with a fine diving save to the left to prevent Memphis 901 FC’s Aaron Molloy from escaping the penalty spot late in the first half.
Rocco Rios Novo (PHX) – #PHXvMB, April 15, 2023: The 20-year-old standout saved a point for Rising FC in stoppage time in the second half of a 1-1 draw by holding off a close-range header from Monterey Bay FC’s Christian Volesky with brilliant one-handed defense.
