US Men’s National Team coach Greg Verhalter said Gareth Southgate ignored his message ahead of the World Cup game.
Burhalter revealed at the pre-match press conference that Southgate ignored his WhatsApp message ahead of Friday’s crucial World Cup clash.
The two have been very close so far, but the England manager wants to keep his distance ahead of the important game against the USA.
“I was sending him a WhatsApp and I don’t see the blue check mark so I don’t know what’s going on,” he said.
“I took a short break. We will resume our relationship tomorrow.”
Even if Wales and Iran had played in the previous match, the American still has every chance of qualifying. They rely on young stars such as Christian Pulisic, Gio Reyna and Yunus Musser to get something against the hugely popular England.
This young American team could be a bit of a dark horse this World Cup, but they should score points from their clash with the Three Lions on Friday.
England went into the game with a ferocious pace after beating Iran 6-2 in their opening match.
