The Fantasy Premier League may be on hiatus for the World Cup, but maybe World Cup Fantasy fills the void in our lives.
World Cup 2022 Fantasy Football is launched by FIFA and will start on November 20th. It has many similarities to the Fantasy Premier League, but also some key differences.
athletic I’ll explain how it works…
foundation
Similar to the FPL, managers start with teams of 15 players. It consists of 2 goalkeepers, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders and 3 forwards. Your budget is $100million and the rules do not mention price increases/decreases or budget increases as the tournament progresses.
You can select up to 3 players from the same team in the group stage. This increases to four in the round of 16, five in the quarter-finals, six for him in the semi-finals and eight in the final.
Tournament rounds are divided into 7 matchdays, and 11 starters and 4 alternates must be selected in one of the game’s allowed formations.
Each starting XI must have at least 1 goalkeeper, at least 3 defenders, at least 2 midfielders and at least 1 forward.
game day
As mentioned above, each round of competition is called a Matchday, and there are a total of 7 tournaments.

You can take turns, so there is a lot to manage for each game in the meantime game day.
So if one of the players performs poorly in the early kick-off, that player can be substituted for a player who has not yet played that day. The same applies to the selection of captains. This means that if your first-choice skipper flops, you can pass the armband to any player on your team who hasn’t started the game yet. However, he can only do this once as captain during each matchday.
Teams should be checked regularly for manual substitutions and captain changes. This gives you a huge advantage over your rivals.
Many of us lick our lips at the possibility of messing with our team during a match, but of course there is some risk as the gamble doesn’t always pay off. Players are encouraged to leave as is rather than being replaced and retained as captain if they score 8 or more points.
This rule also allows transfers during the match, unlike the Premier League version of the game.
This is especially useful when there is a surprise team selection.
This means that if a player in the team is on the bench in a match in his country or does not participate in the team at all, he can be transferred before the match begins to another player who has not yet played that day. means The transferred player will become active and start scoring from the next match scheduled for the current match day.
However, if a player has already played on the current match day and the player is transferred, the replaced player will not score points until the next match day.
earn points
The scoring system is very similar to that of FPL.
Players score spawn points and score points by attacking returns and clean sheets in a similar fashion.
Appearance points are awarded to players who appear in a match for 60 minutes or more. Clean sheet points are given to the goalkeeper after he has played 70 minutes and to the defenders after he has played 60 minutes he is awarded 5 points. No points are deducted for the player’s first goal conceded by his team, and he loses one point for each subsequent goal.
Goal points favor defensive players over FPL.
The goalie (it might happen!) gets 9 points and the defender 7 points.
Midfielders get 5 points for each goal. Also, for a clean sheet he gets 1 point (given after 60 minutes of play) and for every 3 tackles he gets 1 point.
Forwards get 5 points for each goal and 1 point for every 2 shots on goal.
A player is awarded 2 points for winning a penalty and a point is deducted for conceding 1. The goalie earns his three points on his saves from penalties. Unlike FPL, there are no bonus points.

Game day travel
Since the tournament only has seven match days, there are plenty of free transfers to change teams between rounds. Each additional transfer costs 3 points and 1 can be carried forward. Between the end of the group phase on December 2nd and the start of the Knockout-his phase the following day, there are unlimited transfers.

chips
There are three chips used by the manager, called “boosters” in this version of the game. They are: Wild Card, 12th Man, and Power Captain.
Each booster can only be used once and cannot be used more than once in a single matchday.
The Wildcard format is exactly like any other fantasy game, with unlimited transfers allowing you to change teams permanently for the rest of the tournament.
The 12th Man Booster allows you to select 1 additional point-scoring player in your team on Matchday.
Power Captain means that the highest scoring player in a squad of 15 automatically earns double the points and replaces the captain of your choice.
Once a booster is confirmed, it cannot be canceled.
